Why Us?
There are a lot of reasons that the musician should not do a mastering of his track itself. The most important of these reasons are the reason of endless love for the track
(for the musicians his work seems perfect, complete and does not need anything anymore). But it is not so. Also, there is a dangerous moment when mixing tracks reaches
the "point of no return" - it happens every day: the ears of a producer ears are tired, "blurry" and he lost the hearing of elementary mistakes in his mix.
Another very important problem is that the producer is not fully aware of the importance of high-quality mixing and mastering, and one of the main concepts of mastering
is the so-called "universal sound", that it allows you to make a sound as much as possible the same on all types of audio devices, whether it is a mono speaker of a mobile phone,
or a massive and powerful sound systems in a huge clubs. There are also a few reasons (lack of knowledge, inability, lack of experience, lack of time), and so on. Therefore,
we recommend that you entrust mastering to us. Just want to draw your attention to the fact that at the end of work you may be asked
to release you track at one of our digital labels. Working time - is about 1-2 business days.
If you need to fix a little more serious problems with not all instruments (1.2 or 3) in track you can order a procedure called Stem-Mastering.
It is similar process but with groups of instruments of your track (not with entire track). Often, we prefer to do stem-mastering instead of the mixing,
since this type of work has undeniable advantages: working time (less than with mixing) without sacrificing quality and the best possible saving picture of the author's ideas in track.
Also, we are ready to make al least 1 free revision of your mix with suggestions for your satisfaction (if needed). Working time - is about 2-3 business days.
And if You do not have any idea on how to place sounds in the track properly - you need to complete the mixing process. This ensures a higher quality,
but takes longer and costs more. Usually, after mixing, we will show you the result already with mastering. Working time - is about 3-4 business days.
Mastering
Final make-up for tracks. High-quality mastering can make only a professional with own experience, using his familiar tools and in his ordinary workspace.
We know how top tracks are sounding now and we are ready to make 2 free revisions of your track. Working time - 1-2 busines days...
Please, read CAREFULLY about source files requirements.
-
WAV PCM file, at least 24bit / 44100 kHz.
It is more preferable and flexible sound standart. Please, do not send the Wav-file, renamed from mp3 or converted to IMA DPCM from compressed audio or else.
-
Output signal should be approx. 12db RMS and peaks must not exceed -6 db.
It is very good that your output signal will be between -4 and -6 db on peaks and have the uncompressed RMS approximately from -13 to -11 db.
-
At the master bus all plugins must be turned off or in BYPASS mode.
It is possible to leave a "soft" limiting without agressive parameters.
-
WAV-file must be packed in a zip archive and uploaded to any file-sharing service.
A link to download archive you must send us by e-mail smmastering [at] gmail [dot] com with subject “Artist name – mastering” or
upload your track on our special page. Please, note in your message "Track BPM ...".
Mixing
If you do not have any idea on how to place sounds in the track properly - you need the mixing. This process is more important in the audio production and requires more attention and time.
Usually, after mixing, we will show you the result already with mastering. Working time - is about 3-4 business days...
It will be nice if you include in this archive YOUR mixed version.
-
All instruments should be exported each other into a WAV PCM file, at least 24bit / 44100 kHz.
It is allowed grouping instruments in one group track, but the mixdown will be the best if every instrument channel of your project will be
exported in a separate file each. Filenames must be intuitive (for example, channel track with Kick must have a name "01.kick.wav").
-
Any processing effects / plugins in all of the tracks have to be turned off.
You can leave automation procedures only. Remember: sometimes the VSTi-instruments are includes Echo / Reverb, built in the patch or preset of bank.
You can leave the "soft" limiter without volume correction, Sidechain, and the effects of the sound without which the sound loses its original value
(for example, includes a plugin type like a Glitch, Sqeeze, Distortion and etc.). Please note that this kind of tracks should be
marked in the filename (for example, "Guitar+sqeeze.wav").

Output signal will be between -4 and -6 db.
Less signal is always better

Stem-Mastering
STEM-mastering - is a more powerful process with groups of instruments (not with each instrument, like with mixing).
Ordinary it includes instrument groups mixing and mastering all track after mixing of this groups.
